Stoked

My computer broke last Thursday.... - All my music goes through my computer.

- I spend over 30 hours a week looking at my computer screen - actually - that's a minimum, its probably double that

- this is how I make my living, so when the computer breaks - its a very, very big thing.

My computer had been put together for me by Richard, my brother - 5 years ago. He knows about this stuff and we built the best machine I could afford at the time ($1500:) big server case, loads of fans, fast motherboard, P4, gig of ram - it was fast and it worked, it was the best machine I have ever owned! Thank you Richard.

Its taken 5 days, but I have a new machine, new dual screen set up, new workspace, new capacities - and again; everything works!!!

Looking forward to posting new music - there is new track that Bowser owns - light piano and strings that should be up in the next week or so. I'm off to play.....

Mark Heimonen

Our MySpace friend, Mark Heimonen, describes his "band" as consisting of "little more than me, my guitar, a 15 year Roland D-20, a Radio Shack mike, and my computer." Whatever he uses to produce his music, I think it is lovely, relaxing, and very enjoyable listening. Mark Heimonen is from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He classifies his music as Acoustic/Indie/Classical.

The four pieces available to listen to on his MySpace page, are Anxiety First, Second and Third Movements, and Hopes and Dreams. All are piano driven and rhythmic, melodic pieces. It would be difficult for me to choose a favorite from the four; I like them all. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that my state of mind is so often one of anxiety that I am a little more drawn to those three samples of Mark's music. But, Hopes and Dreams forms a nice combination with them.

music2work2

I’ve been listening to a lot of music2work2 this week. Now that I feel better and am trying to get caught up on some of the work I got so far behind with while I was sick, I have had music2work2 playing in the background any time I’m at the computer.

I suppose I am a little biased – after all, I wouldn’t be involved with music2work2 if I didn’t like the music and believe in the project. But, even though I listen to the sessions over and over again, I don’t tire of them and I continue to marvel at just how beautiful the music is.

The sessions composed originally are wonderful; but, I think the ones Andrew has composed in the past year are even more wonderful - absolutely fantastic! The sessions containing more voices – strings, organ, etc. have such fullness and depth to them. I am anxious to get busy letting everyone know about music2work2. That will come when we get some changes and improvements made to the web site. We are constantly getting more people registering on the site anyway; that’s terrific and I’m so glad they are finding us. But, I’m ready to let the entire world know about music2work2 and share this marvelous music with them.
