2006 - People 1

Following on from the early years, I was starting to get the idea of working with people as inspiration for the music: Paul was an attempt to get the strings to feel like a real violin, Vincent was an exercise in how to write a simple solo piano lullaby, Charlotte, Richard and Cassie were all examples of me sitting down and just focusing on the subject with piano tracks then string tracks and then whatever else came to mind!

Vincent - 10 minutes 45 seconds

Simple piano music written to calm a newborn baby to sleep.

This session was created for new arrival Vincent and his Mum and Dad Schirin and Steve.

I was thinking simple lullabies, the kind of thing a mother or father might whistle or hum to their baby while rocking them back to sleep. We learned early on with our own children that repetition is good for the child but less so for the adult. Children are often happy to listen to something or repeat the same behavior many times over before they get bored with it, great when they're on their own, but.....

Pianistic Tendencies

Pianistic Tendencies (Ian Hudson) composes and performs New Wave/Classical/Ambient piano music. Ian is located in Massachusetts where he is majoring in music at Bridgewater State College. There are three selections on his MySpace page to listen to; all very beautiful, relaxing music. Listening to Pianistic Tendencies I am reminded of sessions by music2work2 such as Vincent and Boys Bedtime.

This is one of our MySpace friends that I definitely think you should check out!
