Jeneric - Part 1 Development

Part 1 of "Jeneric" - one more to go and we have the final piece [audio:jeneric-part1v1.mp3 | titles=Jeneric Part 1 - Development|artists=music2work2]

I love the groove change at around 3:00 minutes - I was looking for something that conveyed the inherent energy behind the happy couple.

The first theme that came into my head when thinking about Jennifer and Eric was actually the slower theme that you hear in Part 2 - but that wasn't going to cut it for the opening - I'm digging this - a few more tweaks and we're there...

Follow Your Dreams – that’s what they say. Move to Los Angeles, become a Rock Star – or not. Choose to study, to practice - to the detriment of the normal niceties that are supposed to accompany a life. Everybody has their own journey and no-one’s is the same...

I live in terror of not being good enough, of being the delusional incompetent who has spent his time unwisely and probably selfishly in pursuit of something that was never going to be. I suspect that every creative lives with this, although I’m pretty sure that people like B.B King or Paul McCartney don’t sweat the small stuff anymore.

This piece had something in it that allowed me to continue; to believe that if I just worked hard enough and long enough, that everything would be OK. It’s not really music2work2, more of a marker on the way to what music2work2 would become, but it gave me hope at a very dark time and for that – I called it Beautiful.

New Development Piece on Website

There is a new development piece on the music2work2 website. Wendi's 40th is a session Andrew is in the process of developing for his wife's 40th birthday. I think it is very beautiful already, with two voices. As he develops it further, other voices may be added. And, you will be able to follow the development and hear the changes as the session progresses and takes its final form.

I am very excited about the plans for making the stages of development of new sessions available on the website. When I was visiting in Los Angeles last February, I observed Andrew composing some new sessions; it was fascinating!
