Jeneric Strings and Templates

So I'm working through a million different string patches to find the right one - and guess what - it's taking long!  I'm now tracking in both analog and MIDI, which bodes well for the future but sucks right now as I go through the learning curve.  I had hoped to have the Aerial hoop routine finished today but each different patch changes how I hear the part and ...blah blah blah.... nothing like a whiny musician huh!

I'm also working on two other pieces at the moment - I received the finished version of Last Chance a few days ago and will be cueing that up as soon as I have the Aerial hoop piece in the bag.  Along side Last Chance I have also started on a more traditional piece of music2work2 to celebrate my sister in law Jennifer's recent engagement to Eric.  Using a bit of number madness I found that Jennifer was the 84th most popular name for girls and Eric was the 86th most popular name for boys - who knew?  So - I'm doing a piece at 170 bpm and calling it "Jeneric!"

On top of all that I'm putting the finishing touches to the first music2work2 newsletter and am deep inside html templates - oh the joy.

It's been a very scratchy week and I hope it gets better soon!

Thea - Aerial Hoop

One more stage to go but this is the correct structure:[audio:http://music2work2.com/music/clipdownloads/thea-correct.mp3| titles=Thea - Correct |artists=music2work2] Download Couldn't quite nail the performance this morning - will do that tomorrow

I hope to be sitting down with my old engineer and producer Mike Lesniak this evening and working on string tones - if that goes well I think this would benefit from a second part.

Time to send this off to Thea and see what she thinks...

142 - Thea Development (Getting Close)

Almost there with this theme for an aerial hoop routine- need to work on the final build and climax but everything's pretty much in the right place.[audio:http://music2work2.com/music/clipdownloads/142-thea.mp3| titles=142 Thea Development|artists=music2work2] Download I do like this tempo - it clips along but doesn't feel rushed

I tried playing it at 71 bpm but kept falling off so had to re-record a click at 142 to help me! I'm going to re-work the part at 2:45 so that it actually resolves on the major 5th rather than back on the 1 - should make it a little more dramatic and bigger .

I'm thinking about the beginning and end of the piece - I'm looking for something that indicates what's coming, sets the mood and gives the performer time to get on and off the apparatus. Should have this wrapped by the end of the week.
