If you were wondering - the BPM is jumping up in line with the tempo I use for scale and arpeggio practice, although the piece is targeting 114 BPM, this is sounding pretty good
This is the main theme pretty much dialed in - the figure in the right hand works really nicely on the sparse left hand and there's acres of room for some beautiful string melodies to play in there.

I love this track - Richard's been working it for years.
We got a couple of hours to hang out last week - this is from the iphone mic / audioboo app in the room - sounding good...
This is still too slow but the piece is taking shape and is actually pretty good music to work to already.
I can hear strings all over this and might have a play with them later on tonight. I am going to try and resist the temptation to make the piano any more complicated than it already is; there's something about the repetitive figure that creates a space from which you can lose yourself - and that's the whole point.
