From Fucking to Kissing

Yes I'm totally writing risque titles to grab your attention - but hey - the movie is centered on sex and they do actually kiss and cuddle at the end of it!! ;-p

I've been working on a couple of things with this theme - one is how to sync with the actual animation; the scenes intertwine lovemaking with abstract mandala imagery and I think I've solved how to manage that; you might hear at the beginning of the clip how I'm staying on the root for a few bars before ascending the theme - it's something I'll be developing over the next few weeks.

The second issue is how to transition from the frenzy of the act into the calmer and infinitely more romantic kiss at the end - and while this version isn't exactly right, it definitely opens a doorway to where I want to take it.

For now I'm just using the image of the Mandala - not quite ready to post some of the Kama Sutra stock images just yet!!!!

Wendi mix 4 - Transition

OK - got another 3 minutes of the track - again this is more about the string performance than the overall layering and full mix - but the piece is now really taking shape

I'm thinking I might want to go back in and get the top string part again - but we'll see - as I was recently reminded - sometimes you've just got to publish and get it out there - otherwise you're liable to spend a lifetime picking at it and trying to make it perfect - sometimes good enough is good enough - we'll see.

Wendi theme transition with correct piano track

Hurrah! - Finally managed to get a piano performance that I'm stoked about - so - we're in the home stretch. I'm playing around with the strings at the moment - I've got a few good tracks but there's still some room for improvement. Over the coming weeks I will be playing with the mix and adding additional strings to flesh out the feel of the piece.

I'm really starting to love how this theme transition is beginning to sound - this isn't quite right but there's 4 separate string tracks here and they're really beginning to gel
