Dave Kilminster

Dave Kilminster's solo rock album, Scarlet, was written, sung and performed by Dave himself. He was joined by some other musicians and vocal backup. A well-known guitarist, Dave was namedGuitarist Magazine's 1991 Guitarist of the Year.

Of the four songs available to hear on Dave Kilminster's MySpace page, my favorite is "Aragon." It clearly demonstrates his skill and expertise in playing the guitar. It is an instrumental piece; the other three are vocals. They are really great songs also; Dave's voice is clear and pleasant and the melodies are lovely. The harmony on the vocals is terrific also. I particularly like "Rain" out of the other three songs.

Dave Kilminster is from the U.K. and receives rave reviews for his enthusiasm, technical mastery, and unusual techniques.

Bad With the Good

After months of no significant rainfall, the rains came to NC today, bringing with them severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and, of course, the weather related migraine. Things have been so terribly dry I really can't complain about it. It would have been nice though to have the rain without the storms and headache. But, as they say.....you have to take the bad with the good, so I'll just be thankful for the rain and take medication (which I'm also thankful for) for my migraine!

Heath

There were four new sessions posted on music2work2.com during the month of April. I have written about the others; the fourth one is Heath. It is piano and strings and has a moderate tempo. Listening to this session, the image it evokes for me is of a gentle rain; not a storm, but just the steady falling of raindrops to the earth to nourish and refresh nature. It reminds me of the kind of rain that leaves everything looking green and alive.
