Happy Birthday my Love,
I hope 40 is everything you wanted it to be and more,
I hope your 40's are the start of the best decades of your life and mine along
with you,
I hope 40 sees you happy in areas that you have yet to be and I cannot wait
to see that,
So - here it is - Wendi's theme - or I should say Themes - as she has
way more of them than anyone else. The two established themes are developed
here - with obvious nods to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata in the Gminor theme.
I love the new emerging F major to G major / 7 groove.
I like this piece a lot - there is so much hope in it, alongside the sadness
- just like my beautiful wife.
Below is the piece that I originally
worked on to develop the Wendi's birthday piece. It sounds nothing like the
eventual theme.....

First off - please note - this is a development session - i.e. potentially crappy!!!
;-)
I'm developing an idea of demonstrating what the process is like to create a
piece. I'm getting very close to understanding how I want to design the structure
of the new music2work2 - it's going to be very cool!
Each session will have it's own page - and on that page will be the development
notes and downloadable versions of the development tracks - so - if you're interested
- you can see how a piece develops.
For this session - this session is about my Wendi's up and coming 40th birthday!
She was born in 1967 - so of course - the tempo is a very calming 67 beats per
minute - it's very apt for Wendi - she is a very "calming" type of
person - definitely someone to have around when the shit starts to fly!!
I'm toying with the idea of doing this in 9 time - I think it needs more instruments
- and I don't know where to go with it. I can hear the basic structure as delivered
by the keys - but of course - at times they are just sitting there marking space
- so - before anything happens with this session - the two voices need to be
edited and pruned - and possibly a third track identified to fill holes.
Some of it I do love - I love the intricacies of playing in 9 - there are so
many places to go - particularly at a low BPM - It's also the longest piece
that I have produced in a while.
